TRAVELING BY AIR

Flying is one of the easiest and fastest ways to reach the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. The city is served by two major airports, offering excellent flight options whether you’re arriving from across the country or internationally.

O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

Located about 17 miles northwest of downtown, O’Hare is one of the largest and busiest airports in the U.S. It’s a major hub for American Airlines and United, with direct flights from almost every major U.S. city and numerous international destinations.

Transportation from O’Hare to downtown:

• CTA Blue Line train: Connects the airport to downtown in about 45 minutes. It's affordable and runs 24/7.
• Rideshare/taxi: Takes around 30–60 minutes, depending on traffic. Expect higher rates during peak times.
• Rental cars: A shuttle takes you from the terminals to the Rental Car Center, where you'll find all major rental brands (such as Avis, Alamo, Dollar, Hertz)
• Private shuttles and limos

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

Midway is about 10 miles southwest of downtown and is a great choice for domestic travelers. It’s the main hub for Southwest Airlines and also serves Delta and a few others.

Transportation from Midway to downtown:

• CTA Orange Line train: Runs directly to downtown in about 25–30 minutes.
• Taxi or rideshare: Typically takes 20–40 minutes, depending on traffic.
• Rental cars: On-site rental car center accessible via shuttle bus.

Which airport should you choose?

• Choose O’Hare if you're flying in from further away, especially internationally or from the West Coast. It has more flight options and airline choices.
• Choose Midway for easier airport navigation, quick access to downtown, and affordable domestic flights – especially with Southwest Airlines.
